Fiber generally doesn’t affect blood sugar levels. ↩ However, you can “overdo it” with fat calories and protein as well. That’s a ketogenic diet, and it’s by far the most important thing for ketosis to occur.

If you got hungry on Day One between breakfast and lunch, or lunch and supper while you’re still at work—then portion out some nuts (15 of them ) or some pork rinds to add to your brown bag. A keto low-carb, high-fat diet appears to be very safe for most people. One study found that obese adults who consumed a lower-carb, higher-fat diet for 16 weeks lost more body fat, particularly in the belly area, compared to those following a low-fat diet ( 10 ).
